Vestry Hall

Before falling into disrepair in the 1990s, the Vestry Hall was one of the best-known, best-loved and most widely-used buildings in the area.

“The Vestry Hall is a landmark building in the heart of Burngreave and its restoration is an important step in the regeneration of Burngreave as a whole. Local residents have been campaigning for years to have the building brought back into community use and now it is happening.” Jon Cowley, Regeneration Manager for Children & Young People, BNDfC.

Now, thanks to a 3 million pound refurbishment programme funded by Burngreave New Deal for Communities, the Vestry Hall has re-opened as a community learning and activity centre. The centre has a large hall and several meeting rooms to house an assortment of courses, events and social functions, including:

  • Community events and activities.

  • Adult education and training to assist people into employment.

  • Community-based study support for young people.

  • Pioneering high tech IT training facilities to promote e-learning and ICT.

You can now hire rooms at the Vestry Hall for your own parties, training, corporate events etc. For more information, please contact us on 0114 2133 800 for details.
