Burngreave New Deal for Communities

The main objective of the Somali Music Band Project is to initiate and develop a strong Somali cultural identity and encourage an intercultural awareness training package reflecting on Somali music. The grant has enabled the project to train young people about music as an art and its benefits in their future careers. The project has also been able to inform and advice members from other cultural backgrounds about the Somali music, culture and customs whilst working together with other Sheffield communities to increase the awareness of the project.
