Jane Brown, Sheffield First

Jane Brown sits on the BNDfC Board as a Statutory Representative, representing Sheffield First Partnership.

Jane has been Director of Sheffield First Partnership, one of BNDfC's partner organisations, since September 2005.

She has a long history of successfully leading strategic partnerships, having developed her real commitment to partnership-working in 1998, when she became Director of Safer York Partnership, the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership for the City of York. She has since continued to pursue this career path as Chief Executive of Darlington Partnership, the Local Strategic Partnership for Darlington, and Head of Partnerships and Neighbourhoods, City of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council.

Her previous experience had been varied and interesting, starting with nursing upon leaving school, which she left to pursue a BA Hons in Social Policy and Administration at the University of York. In the years that followed Jane worked within many voluntary organisations, as both a paid employee and as a volunteer, as well as continuing to pursue further academic studies. She has worked across many different policy areas and organisational cultures and puts this experience to good use in the partnership setting.
