Ready To Go Fund

About Ready to Go

Ready to Go grants are given to people living in the Burngreave New Deal area who want to start up their own business. We know that start up finance is crucial for small businesses, which is why BNDfC has launched the grants to help people start new businesses and achieve their goals. Ready to Go grants are discretionary and will be granted by a panel made up of representatives from Burngreave Business Forum and Ready to Go funders – the panel’s decision will be final and no communication will be entered into once a final decision has been made. Ready to Go grants should allow a new business to start trading.

How much can we give?

Ready to Go fund is up to £5,000 and will be used to support start-ups. However, we will require clear evidence to show that you have tried to access other sources of funding such as banks, other grants, loans, savings or support from family and friends. Applications that include some sort of match-funding will be looked on more favourably as the panel will not approve applications for total project funding from Ready to Go.

What can the grants be used for?

Ready to Go grants can be used to purchase critical equipment, services, training, rent, promotional material or a combination of any of these. It cannot be used to pay salaries, wages or drawings

How will the application be assessed?

Each application will be assessed by a panel that will make one of three decisions:

1)Approval

2)Approval with requirements – this may be training, development etc

3)Refusal

Once a panel has assessed an application, the applicant will be contacted in person and told of the decision.

Who can apply for a Grant?

Anyone over the age of 18 who lives in the Burngreave New Deal area and who wants to start up and run a new business. The business does not have to be in Burngreave but the economic impact of starting the business must be felt in the Burngreave New Deal area.
